				Broken Everything

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”
 Crying, crashing, throwing, breaking,
 Shouting, screaming, silent screams.
 Flashbacks of happy days,
 Flashbacks of singing birds,
Flashbacks of colored paintings complementing the
 White walls behind it.
 Flashbacks of you and me,
Flashbacks of what used to be,
 Once
How my life used to be.
Waking up in the middle of the night
 To turn on the light
With a throbbing pain somewhere in my skull
 Caused by a nightmare,
 That’s
Unwilling to resign in the corner of my mind.
 The lights are on;
My shadow is crossing the floor.
My face as pale, as death
To what I saw on the floor
 -Broken everything-
 Broken glass
 Broken smiles
 -AND-
 Broken shards of the past,
Lying peacefully on the marble floor of my room
That was as silent as the grave,
I felt my body as weak as water
And just then a crystal like tear fell from my eyes,
Sudden rays of light came crashing through
Whichever space it could come from,
 To evaporate my tear away,
Though there was right in front of my eyes
 My broken life,
Rays of light, hope and despair
Announced a new beginning to a new life………
And yet I still mourn and grieve on the days
That I wasted while standing in front of my broken everything……………………
