The Continuous Sacrifice

Kneeled before the body of the martyr
Grasped the dirt between her hands
Her heart wrenched with grief and helpless fury
She wept with great bitterness

She is trying to sob
The sob is tightening her throat and stealing what breath she had left

She remembered her last child

Gazed at the killers and shouted: Stop killing our children
Then, looked up to the sky and yelled: Allah Akbar
