"If the tree must die, then I shall die with it", said the woman.

There was once a woman living in the hills and mountains of Palestine. The woman was middle aged; around forty, and had no children or husband. Today was one of those beautiful days for her, the ones that are filled with relaxation, and the ones where the weather is not too hot outside. It was so nice that it was hard to believe for her! She was watering her plants, and then heard a sudden "Boom, boom, boom!" She knew exactly was going on the second she heard it. The Israeli army was coming. Immediately she ran inside and locked the door on herself. She had no near neighbors; the closest one was a kilometer away. All of a sudden there was frequent knocking on the door, and before she knew it the door was broken open and there stood 5 Israeli men with a bulldozer. She sprinted to her room and locked the door on herself. They started taking everything thing valuable and started running over the house with the bulldozer. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she watched her vases shattering, her mug collections demolishing, and every last trace of her family being crushed. At last she saw them heading toward the garden. They started crushing every last tree and plant they saw, and running them over with the bulldozer. At last they reached her olive tree. She's had that olive tree for 25 years, and it was like a child to her. Every day she watered it, and spoke and sang to it. Killing that tree would kill a part of her heart too. She unlocked the door and stood by the tree. Boldly, she kept her pose. "If the tree must die, then I shall die with it", said the woman.
